Christmas came early for a Birstall charity after they were given a real tree and a gift hamper by a Leeds business.

JTF Mega Discount Warehouse donated the 6ft Nordmann fir tree, decorations and a hamper to Bumpy, a children’s educational foundation.

Customers were asked to nominate a deserving local cause to receive the windfall, and several families suggested Bumpy as the charity had supported their children. Volunteers decorated the tree alongside children from Bumpy and it now has pride of place in the charity’s reception area.

Bumpy provides young people with special educational needs with training to ride and maintain motorcycles. They are taught how to look after the vehicles and gain their licence before progressing to higher education courses.

JFT will continue to support Bumpy, which relies on donations and fundraising, throughout the year.

“Bumpy is an extremely worthy charity to receive this donation and we are pleased to offer a real Christmas tree, all of the decorations and a gift hamper to them. It is very clear that the charity’s work is appreciated by the local community due to all of the support for them through the nominations made by Leeds’s JTF Warehouse members. We wish all of the Bumpy staff, volunteers and members a very merry Christmas,” said JFT retail director Liam Gill.
