Burglars target centre for the disabled

Burglars have targeted two schools in recent weeks – including one for people with learning difficulties.

The latest incident happened at Ravensthorpe Social Education Centre and Special Care Unit in John’s Street, Ravensthorpe, at 7.30pm on Tuesday February 3.

The thieves got in through the back of the building but it is not believed anything was stolen.

It follows a burglary at St Paulinus Junior and Infant School in Temple Road, Dewsbury, on Monday January 12, at around 6.15pm.

Cash was stolen after the suspects forced their way into the reception area of the building.

The CCTV images show the offence in progress.

PC Samantha Smith, of Kirklees CID, said: “We would urge anyone with information about either of these incidents or the people responsible to call Kirklees CID on 101.”
