A Yorkshire Water spokesman said: “The burst on Wellington Street was quite spectacular after one of our pipes burst on Saturday creating a fountain which was approximately 15m in the air.

“Our team was quickly on the scene and the pipe and road surface was repaired by 11.20pm.

“We had one call from a resident who had low pressure following the burst but no one was left without water.”
