A global company has made a multi-million pound purchase of a business offering forklift contract hire and fleet management.
Korea-based Doosan Industrial Vehicle UK – a forkflit manufacturer – bought Rushlift Limited, who have one of their six depots in Low Mill Lane on Ravensthorpe Industrial Estate.
There will be no job losses at the Dewsbury site, which provides contract hire, fleet management, servicing materials handling and aviation support equipment nationally.
But former chairman Peter Cosgrove has now headed into retirement.
Rushlift Limited CEO Graham Holyland said: “Rushlift is entering an exciting new growth phase as we now have the backing of Doosan, a global brand, with all the opportunities that presents for the business and our employees.
“Despite this, it is in many respects business as usual for us as we continue to provide our existing customers with the excellent levels of support they expect.”
Doosan employs more than 40,000 people worldwide and operates in 38 countries.
It is hoped the deal will provide security and career progression opportunities for Rushlift’s UK staff.
CEO of the Doosan Industrial Vehicle UK Group Tim Waples said: “Our complete product range and Rushlift’s deserved reputation for fleet management, account management and service excellence mean these two businesses are a fantastic and complementary fit.”
