CCTV pictures after Co-op cigarette robbery

CCTV images of men police want to speak to after more than £3,000 worth of cigarettes were stolen have been released.

Three men broke into the Co-op in Thornhill after prising open security shutters with a crow-bar and smashing a window. They broke into the tobacco counter, stole the cigarettes and left through the the damaged window.

The burglary took place at around 10.45pm on January 9 – a week before a similar crime was committed at the Co-Op in Mirfield.

At around 12.50am on January 16 a dark coloured Mercedes style saloon car reversed into the window of the Co-Op in Old Bank Road, Mirfield.

Three men wearing balaclavas got into the store through the damaged window, returning with a large container of cigarettes.

The three men then got back into the car, which was driven by a fourth man, before it sped off along Sunny Bank Avenue.

The suspects were men wearing light grey or white tops, one of which had a stripe down one arm. The driver of the car was wearing a dark coloured top.
