Clinton Cards in Birstall to close by next week
A NEW wave of closures for troubled greetings card chain Clinton Cards has been announced, this time including the store at Birstall Shopping Park.
The junction 27 site had survived two rounds of closures made by administrators Zolfo Cooper while it sought a buyer for the firm, but will now close by June 21.
Last week Zolfo Cooper, which took control of Clintons last month, announced the store was not included in the sale of nearly 400 stores to American card company Lakeshore Lending Limited. At the time 43 stores were closed.
Clintons Cards in Birstall, listed as ‘Leeds, Birstall Park’, is one of 122 further stores to close in the next week, it was revealed on Thursday.
A buyer is still sought for the remaining outlets.
