Could you help us harvest daffodils?

A CANCER charity is looking for volunteers in North Kirklees to help make its annual appeal its best yet.

Marie Curie Cancer Care needs people to help collect boxes of daffodil badges back in and bank donations.

Last year, the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal raised more than £22,000 in West Yorkshire.

Local community fundraising manager Claire Priestwood said: “People are very generous during the Great Daffodil Appeal and looking after the boxes is a very rewarding volunteering role.

“We’re looking for local people who would be willing to collect the boxes back in when the appeal finishes at the end of March. We would also provide volunteers with a banking pack to allow them to count and bank the donations.”

The appeal has already won the backing of the cast of Chicago who were in Bradford on tour. But it also needs the support of shops and businesses willing to host a daffodil box.
