Guns, drugs and cash seized by police

Guns, drugs and cash were found during an early morning raid by police.

Officers from the Morley neighbourhood police team (NPT), supported by the force’s specialist Viper Team, swooped on the house on Moorside Road, Drighlinton, on Friday.

They found two handguns inside a cupboard and £3,000 in cash as well as quantities of cocaine and cannabis.

Two women, aged 48 and 18, and a 17-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of drugs, theft and money laundering offences.

Sgt Steven Rochnia said: “These latest arrests remove drugs from the local market which helps to make our local community that much safer.

“Information from local residents continues to play a significant part in helping us to identify and target those suspected of being involved in criminality and I would continue to encourage anyone with suspicions to get in touch - we will always look into any information we receive and will take action where we need to.

“By working together we can make sure our communities are safer places for us all to live and work.”
