Spotting a gap in the local market, Mr Gardiner made significant investment to secure the latest technology and equipment needed to establish the business.

He then hand-picked a team to run the wheels operation and put not just them, but himself, through the rigorous training required to service this demanding market.

Transalloy Wheels operates on a 48-hour guaranteed service pledge backed up with a collection and delivery service. Specialist diamond cutting services are also available in addition to standard alloy refurbishments, repairs to buckled and damaged wheels, and customisation.

Transalloy now provides contract services to leading motor dealerships including Arnold Clark, Stoneacre, Motorpoint and availableCar.com.

Mr Gardiner said: “We’ve worked very hard since we launched last year with not a single customer on the books!

“But business is all about taking risks and I believe that one of the main contributors to our current success is the 48-hour turnaround service we offer to all customers. We are keen on responding to enquiries virtually by return. This has led to a 5-star review status on Facebook and Google and establish us as a serious, reliable and expert provider of all types of alloy wheel refurbishments.”
