Cardiff City look set to sign Manchester United misfit Wilfried Zaha on loan. (Daily Mail)

Local stuff now, and Leeds United are pushing to complete the signing of Cameron Stewart from Hull City as Brian McDermott looks for a shot in the arm after his side’s FA Cup defeat at Rochdale. Stewart is expected to become a Leeds player in time for their derby at Sheffield Wednesday this weekend, the first of a number of players who McDermott wants to add to his out-of-form squad. The 22-year-old winger was omitted from Hull’s side ahead of their third-round tie at Middlesbrough on Saturday after United asked the Premier League club not to render him ineligible for the remainder of the tournament.

Bradford City’s transfer activity in this window looks set to hinge on the future of Nahki Wells. The Bermudan poacher has been linked with just about every club in the Championship other than Yeovil, and would likely command a £2.5 million fee. Leeds boss Brian McDermott ruled himself out of the running, claiming he would be too expensive, but Nottingham Forest are the latest club to be linked. Should Wells be sold, City may choose to invest in goal-scoring midfielder David Syers (pictured), who has been linked with a return to Valley Parade by the Scunthorpe Telegraph, after he has impressed on loan at Scunny from Doncaster.
