The Pivot Academy, which was launched last year by educational and social care consultancy The Pivot Group, was awarded ‘good’ following an inspection at its two sites in Cleckheaton and Bradley that provide Alternative Provision and Day 6 services to schools in Kirklees.

Ofsted looked at the academy’s effectiveness of leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for pupils, all of which were ‘good’.

The Pivot Academy’s acting head, Andrew Kitterick, said: “We set out to be categorised as a good school in our first year, so achieving the grade in less than a year is testament to the hard work and determination of the team to get both sites up and running and providing high quality education.”
