The show will give local youngsters the chance to work with some of the biggest names in the theatre industry as cast and crew members in the production, which will celebrate and commemorate the life of late Batley and Spen MP Jo Cox.

Those aged 13 to 19 are invited to audition for the performance this weekend.

Singing, dancing and acting roles are up for grabs as well as off-stage positions including members of backstage crew, designers and costume makers.

Professional West End director Nick Evans said: “This is an event that will change Batley and Spen forever - and it might just change your life into the bargain.”

Auditions will be held on Saturday and Sunday at St Mary’s Social Club and Parochial Hall in Batley. Performers will need to wear comfortable clothes to move around in.

Anyone who wants to get involved offstage is asked to take along an item that they feel represents something they are good at to talk to organisers about themselves and what they have achieved.
