Hospital centre unveils its newly-transformed garden

The Rosewood Centre at Dewsbury and District Hospital unveiled its newly-transformed garden recently.

And to toast the occasion, the Palliative Day Support and Therapy Unit team laid on a garden tea party.

The Mayor of Kirklees, councillor Jim Dodds, and the Mayoress, his wife Carol Dodds, were in attendance for the official opening.

In August, The Rosewood Centre garden was given a transformational makeover by local volunteers from Homebase Garden Academy, as part of their charity partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support. The makeover completely rejuvenated the previously unused outside space.

Patients from the centre, volunteers and other Trust staff were all in attendance at the event with a specially-designed cake created by one of the patient’s friends.

The Mayor said: “The Rosewood Centre was very warm and welcoming with staff and volunteers doing all they can for those in need.”
