House body raises £8,400 for cause

Macmillan Cancer Support has benefited from a swathe of fundraising activities organised by workers at the non-profit company over the last 12 months.

A World Cup sweepstake and Strictly-style dance sessions contributed towards the grand total, as did Tour de France-inspired bike ride, rounders match and bowling competition.

For the less sporty there was a cake sale and Christmas jumper competition, while male members of staff grew a tache in support of Movember.

Around half the amount raised came from retirement living schemes managed by KNH. Kings Court in Birstall raised £1,200; Walker Street in Thornhill raised £980 and Denham Court in Batley raised £900.

Macmillan regional fundraising manager Stacey Rhodes said: “We are so grateful to everyone at KNH, including all the staff and tenants, for choosing to support Macmillan by organising and taking part in such a wide range of activities. By pulling together as a team they have raised a phenomenal amount.”

KNH chief executive Simon Rogers said: “Our staff have done a fantastic job of supporting our chosen charity during the year, donating their time, effort and money to make a difference.”
