Labour to announce new leader today

The Labour party is preparing to announce its new leader after a three-month campaign which Jeremy Corbyn is expected to win.

The socialist candidate stood against Yvette Cooper, Andy Burnham and Liz Kendall to lead the party.

The result is expected to be announced at a special conference today at around 11.30am.

Labour’s new deputy leader will also be announced.

The candidates were Tom Watson, Stella Creasy, Ben Bradshaw, Angela Eagle and Caroline Flint.
