LETTER: Info wanted on whereabouts of Dewsbury Park
It was used as a gaming ground and operated by Mr Solomon Eastwood.
I believe it was in Daw Green somewhere.
In December 1882, a prize fight took place on a Sunday between Thomas Keegan and Michael Hooley with Keegan awarded the prize due to a ‘foul blow’ by Hooley.
The fight was reported at the time.

Mr Keegan is an ancestor of mine and I’d like to know a bit more.
