The Mirfield Music Festival – known as M-Fest – is set to return to the Mirfield Showgrounds for a second year, as organiser Donal O’Driscoll outlined his ambitions this week.

Thirty acts are expected to play the festival, which Donal plans to extend over two days.

He added: “We hope to showcase a total of 30 different performances over the two days in a large marquee with the stage at one end and bar at the other.”

To abide with the premise licence, the live music would take place between noon and 10pm with warm up performances beginning at 11am each day.

But Donal promises this would mean more than 20 hours of live music.

He added: “It will be covering a wide range of genres with the acts alternating between acoustic and full band.

“We are looking into crowdfunding and actively seeking support and sponsorship to cover the core costs of the festival such as the marquee, generators, stewarding and toilets.”

A meeting will take place on Thursday to discuss funding and sponsorship plans for the event.

As seating will be limited the meeting will be ticketed but free to attend. Anyone interested in attending can contact Donal on 07957 765573 or email [email protected].
