The road, on a tight bend, was closed in both directions with a diversion put in place via Jackroyd Lane. Traffic was diverted through Upper Hopton village.

A Yorkshire Water spokesman said: “We were alerted to a burst pipe on Hopton Lane in the early hours of Sunday morning affecting water supply locally. We prioritised the repair and within a few hours had reinstated supply.
“Repairs have been completed and we are working hard to reopen the road as soon as possible.
“The road surface requires extensive reinstatement to maintain the integrity of the road and our team will be on site as soon as possible to complete the work.”
