Man in court after stabbing in Earlsheaton

A MAN has appeared in court after a stabbing in Earlsheaton.

Police were called to Syke Street at 5.13am on Saturday to reports of a fight.

Officers found a 24-year-old man with suspected stab wounds. He was taken to Dewsbury and District Hospital where he is in a critical but stable condition.

Yesterday, Jack Allen appeared at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court charged with malicious wounding.

The 19-year-old, of no fixed abode, had been arrested in Westtown.

He did not enter a plea and was remanded into custody until a hearing at Leeds Crown Court on Monday.
