Man grabbed and took photos of woman’s legs in Ikea car park

A WOMAN was sexually assaulted as she was getting into her car at Ikea’s car park on Wednesday night.

The woman, a 52-year-old, was getting into her black Vauxhall Corsa, which was parked in the loading bays at Ikea in Birstall, at around 8.15pm.

The man suddenly appeared at her car door before she’d had time to close it.

He took told of the door and began to comment on the woman’s legs before taking photographs of her.

He then reached into the car and touched the victim’s legs.

The woman sounded her car horn, startling her attacker and causing him to run from the scene, attracting other shoppers in the area.

The woman was left badly shaken and suffered a scratch to her leg.

The man was white, in his 50s around 5ft 8ins tall. He was wearing a dark coat and a hat.
