The funeral has taken place for one of the schoolboys killed in a crash that also claimed the life of his friend and left three others critically ill.
Rhys Baker, 13, a pupil at Bruntcliffe School, was killed on March 7 on Gelderd Road, Morley, when the driver of the car he was travelling in lost control and crashed into a tree.
George Wharton, 14, a pupil at Morley Academy, was also killed in the crash. Two other boys, Joshua Van Veen, 15, and Kameron Walters, 14, are still in hospital along with the driver, 21-year-old Tom McMeekin.
Family, friends and school friends packed out St Luke’s Church in Beeston this afternoon, to say their last goodbyes to the teenager.
An inquest into Rhys and George’s deaths was opened on Monday and has been adjourned pending further police enquiries.
