Supermarket chain Morrisons announced in January that their Ravensthorpe Retail Park store was to close.

It was one of 10 loss-making branches due to be closed this year, with the loss of 409 jobs – most of which the chain’s then incoming chairman Andy Higginson said would be in the north.

Morrisons took over the Huddersfield Road store from Netto in 2011.

Home Bargains were contacted but did not wish to respond.
