New care home launches recruitment drive to fill 75 jobs

Contractors are starting work on the interior fittings of the 66-bed home, which stands at the junction of Chickenley Lane and Walnut Lane and will offer residential, dementia and nursing care.

Managing Director Eric Dixon said: “Our care home manager in already in place and now we are looking to fill 75 full and part time jobs ranging from nurses, carers and cooks through to domestic staff, an administrator and a handyman.

“Individual, high quality care delivered by experienced staff in a comfortable and safe environment is our top priority and as we prepare to welcome our first residents in May, we are actively looking for people who genuinely want to work in the care environment and who can make a major contribution to our residents’ happiness.

“We are keen to bring jobs to the area and employ local people to help Oak Park become part of the community where families drop in and enjoy a cup of tea in our café and take an active part in care planning for their relatives.”

Designed by care home experts Alston Murphy architects, Oak Park is Darrington Healthcare’s third Yorkshire care home, and two further homes are in the planning stages.

Oak Park will feature larger than average rooms with ensuite facilities, a bar and café, internet access, cinema and multi-activity rooms and a hair and beauty salon.
