Letter: Top class production from Cleckheaton and Spenborough Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society

We spent a wonderful evening at Cleckheaton Town Hall watching Cleckheaton and Spenborough Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society perform in Whistle Down the Wind.
HUGE SUCCESS The talented young cast of Whistle Down the Wind.HUGE SUCCESS The talented young cast of Whistle Down the Wind.
HUGE SUCCESS The talented young cast of Whistle Down the Wind.

The production was top class from the choreographer, musical director, stage crew, lighting and special effects to the many more people who worked behind the scenes, but the real stars of the show were the children and young adults who performed in this production.

Lauren Middleton, who played Swallow; Katie-May Ramsey, who played Brat, and Lyndan Barclay, the young boy who played Poor Baby, were brilliant. Everything from singing and acting to their American accents were spot on.

Other cast members included Jacob Backhouse, Richard Shingleton, Abbie Sampson, John Fisher, James Creegan, Scott Penn, David Field and Phil Jowett, plus all the villagers and village children who made this production of Whistle Down the Wind the outstanding musical it was.

I am sure we have seen future stars in the making and many of these young people would not be out of place on any West End stage. A very well done to all!
