Police probe cause of house fire
Police are investigating the cause of a fire which broke out at a house in Dewsbury last night (Sunday).
Two fire crews were called to the home on Lees Hall Road at 10.30pm, after a call from a nextdoor neighbour who reported seeing flames in one of the upstairs windows.
It has yet to be established who owns the house, which was empty when crews arrived to extinguish the fire.
Watch Commander Anthony Woodhead from Dewsbury Fire Station said that “lasting damage” had been caused to the staircase and one of the bedrooms.
