An investigation is ongoing into the source of rat infestations that temporarily shut down three takeaways in Ravensthorpe.
Two takeaways in Huddersfield Road were shut down last June and another last month after inspectors found evidence of rats and mice on the premises.
All three have since reopened.
A Kirklees Council spokesman said: “The Food Safety Team closed two businesses in Ravensthorpe in June, 2014, for mice and rats.
“The first was Kebab Range, 768 Huddersfield Road, rat and mice droppings were found throughout the premises and cleanliness was poor.
“The business remained closed for five days.
“The second business to be closed due to a large infestation of mice was Give and Take, 680 Huddersfield Road. This business reopened after a week.
“On January 7, 2015, Bismillah Roti House, 666 Huddersfield Road, was inspected and found to have a large infestation of rats and mice. They were closed and reopened on January 23.
“Investigations are ongoing to establish the source of the infestation in the area.”
