Batley Health Centre, Dewsbury Health Centre, Cleckheaton Health Centre and Broughton House GP Practice in Batley, which are all ran by Locala Community Partnerships, have all been inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

As a provider of NHS community health care services, Locala is required to be registered with the CQC and is subject to planned and unannounced inspections throughout the year.

During the inspection at Batley Health Centre, staff at the Contraception and Sexual Health (CaSH) service were found to be polite and respectful, and the centre met all the exacting quality and safety standards the CQC require.

The report said: “Staff were courteous and responded to people’s wishes as to when they could attend an appointment of their choice.”

Dewsbury Health Centre’s CaSH services was also praised for providing appointments at other centres if none were available, and “staff were courteous and responded to peoples wishes.”

Difficulties booking same-day and advance appointments at Broughton House GP Practice were highlighted, but the inspectors were satisfied that following a patient survey, the practice was looking at ways of making services more accessible.

The report said: “This is an example of how the practice listened to what people said, took action to improve the service and meet their needs.”

At Cleckheaton Health Centre, inspectors spoke to five patients using its CaSH services.

They found staff were “easy to talk to, kind and respected their privacy.”

Two of the people said they saw the same nurse each time they visited and this person had given them confidence to return.

All four centres – which were inspected in November and December – met all the required standards.

Tina Quinn, Locala’s director of clinical and operational services, said: “We are very pleased to receive these excellent reports which give a clear, strong and reassuring message to our patients and the local community about the high quality standards of Locala services.”

Inspections also took place at Locala’s Whitehouse GP Practice in Huddersfield, Dental Services at Holme Valley Memorial Hospital, Holmfirth and CaSH services at Princess Royal Community Health Centre and Huddersfield.

Locala HomeCare, which provides paid for personalised care for people at home, also met all quality and safety standards.
