St Mary’s Theatre Group in Batley were joined by a showbiz star for their recent performance of the musical FoXFactor. Songwriter Sammy King, who penned Roy Orbison’s hit Penny Arcade, sang the famous song on stage with the cast, which also included a cousin of another famous Batley musician, Robert Palmer. Sammy joined actors in the dressing room after the show, which is set in the Variety Club in 1973 and tells the story of Fox’s factory workers on a night out.
