A stubbed toe – that’s no 999 call!

SOME of the unecessary 999 calls made to Yorkshire Ambulance Service included patients with:

• Broken finger nails,

• stubbed toes,

• hangovers,

• ear pains,

• toothache,

• contact lens problems, and,

• questions about where to collect

medication.

Not sure who can help? Here is some advice from NHS Kirklees.

A lot of illnesses can be treated at home but it’s important to keep a well-stocked medicine cabinet and make sure all medication is in date.
