Expedition leader Gareth Pierce said: “The Scouts and leaders come from all areas of the county. We have participants from Huddersfield, Mirfield, Ilkley, Bradford and Holmfirth to name just a few.”

The expedition team has been training for more than year, taking part in weekends away to build friendships, learn how to work together and find out more about the cultures and religions they will encounter on their trip.

Mr Pierce said: “The Scouts will be visiting several projects whilst they are in the country.

“We will be visiting schools, children’s hostels and also teaming up with the local Scouts whilst we are there.”
