The purchase of the site in Bretton Park has been made for an undisclosed sum. The company already has its head office in Mill Street East and a factory in Cannon Way.

In October, UK Greetings announced that all posts in the manufacturing department of Cannon Way site were being made redundant, leading to an undisclosed number of job losses.

At the time the company said those losing their jobs would be made aware of new opportunities at the Bretton Park site.

A new statement by the firm said the acquisition was a “significant” investment which meant all the company’s warehouse and distribution operations would be consolidated on two sites in the town.

It said: “UK Greetings Ltd is the largest employer in the Dewsbury area, with over 1,000 staff split between the Mill Street East head office and Cannon Way warehouse.

The opening of the Bretton Park site, which is scheduled for April 2015, will create further job opportunities in the region.”
