'˜Unexplained' death of man as body is found in Ravensthorpe

The death of a man whose body was found by a member of the public in Ravensthorpe on Monday is being treated as unexplained, police said today.

The body of the white male, aged between 30 and 50, was found near to Low Mill Lane around 9.15am, according to West Yorkshire Police. Details of the find were only released today.

Detectives are appealing for information and say the male was between 5ft 9ins and 6ft 1ins tall and of slim build. He was wearing a No Fear short sleeved t-shirt and chino style shorts with a palm tree design.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Swift of West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry team, who is leading the investigation, said; “Our investigation is at an early stage, and our priority is identifying the victim, with the death presently been treated as unexplained.

“I would appeal to anyone who recognises the clothing, or who has any information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing.”
