VIDEO: Great Yorkshire Show opens for business

The setting could not be more different to this time last year - and the crowds were out in force at the opening of the Great Yorkshire Show today.

Last year the show was cancelled for the first time in its history after torrential downpours, but the forecast could not be better for this year’s event, which kicked off today in Harrogate.

The country’s premier agricultural event features everything from prize livestock to pigeons and poultry, as well as entertainment, horticulture exhibits and trade offerings.

Tickets are available at the showground’s gates at £24 for adults, £11 for children and £62 for a family pass.

Parking is free and shuttle buses will run continually between the showground and Harrogate railway station during the three days of the show.
