his colourful sign now welcomes people to Batley after a renovation project was launched.
Paint firm PPG agreed to fund the restoration of five of the town’s 16 welcome signs, at a cost of £2,500, as part of the project by Batley History Group.
Many of the signs, which depict the town’s industrial past, had been damaged or were suffering from ageing paintwork.
