Of the officers and staff suspended, seven were disciplined for discreditable conduct and two for duty and responsibility reasons.

The police service also suspended one officer for honesty and integrity reasons.

Det Chief Supt Clive Wain, of West Yorkshire Police’s Professional Standards Department, said: “West Yorkshire Police expects the highest level of professionalism and honesty from our officers and staff.

“Last year, of the officers suspended, a third were reinstated following the conclusion of enquiries.”
