Pupils from Battyeford Primary School saw their new production, Copperbeard and the Legend of Pie, screened at Huddersfield Odeon on Monday.

The film was created as part of a celebration of Shoot Smart, an education project to research digital tablet-based high quality cinematic film making.

Kirklees was one of only four areas out of 44 applicants to be given the funding, which helped the kids create their very own film.

The film – a follow up to last year’s hugely successful Pirates of Rabbit Doll Island – followed a dastardly Pirate’s attempts to steal the mighty ‘pie jewel’ from the tranquil oasis that is Rabbit Doll Island.

Assisted by his obnoxious skeleton crew, Copperbeard the Pirate attempts to ruin Rabbit Doll Island.

When the Rabbit Dolls call to the sky’s above for help, a surprise is in store for Copperbeard and his crew.

The film will be uploaded within the next few weeks to view alongside the other entrants on bigvoicemedia.tumblr.com.
