Celtic run riot with 12 tries

DEWSBURY Celtic boosted their top-four hopes in Yorkshire League Division Two thanks to an emphatic victory at Sherburn Bears.

Celtic ran in 12 tries, Jason Muranka opened the scoring with a third minute try in the corner and two minutes later Nader Amini crossed to make it 8-0.

Sherburn pulled back to within two points with their only try and goal of the game.

Nader Amini was in at the corner for his second try before Danny Crabtree scored Celtic’s fourth at the side of the posts, brother Niki converting.

Celtic’s fifth try came when Paul Heaton dummied to score 10 metres from the corner, Niki Crabtree converted before Alex Walmsley was unstoppable on a 90-metre sprint to score between the posts, Niki Crabtree added the easier conversion to make it 30-6.

Liam Walmsley finished the scoring for the first half, touching down in the corner as Celtic led 34-6.

Danny Lee scored an early second half try between the posts and Niki Crabtree converted before he made an 80-metre break to score between the posts and add the conversion to extend the lead to 48-6.

The 10th try came midway through the second half with Ryan Ginnelly crossing between the posts for Niki Crabtree to add the goal.

Two minutes later Heaton scored his second, Niki Crabtree adding the goal and Walmsley rounded off the emphatic win with Celtic’s 12th try and Niki Crabtree added his eighth goal.
