Cup joy for Old Bank

OLD Bank WMC were celebrating last Friday evening after they defeated Fieldhead Hospital 1-0 in the Wakefield League Division Two Cup final at Nostell Miners Welfare.

Julian Ryder scored the only goal of the game after around 15 minutes when he latched onto a neat cross from Andy Asquith to sidefoot home.

Old Bank were forced to defend for long spells as the much bigger Fieldhead side poured forward.

Old Bank held on for a victory which ends title-chasing Fieldhead’s chance of the double.
