DEWSBURY Moor’s Under-17 scrum-half and captain Brad Delaney has been selected in a 36-man BARLA Great Britain training squad.
The squad have a training game at Wigan on Saturday, from which the final squad to play a game in the Czech Republic will be selected.
Delaney, who is the son of former Leeds and Dewsbury Rams half-back Paul Delaney, is coached at the Moor by former Batley full-back James Hammill and ex-Great Britain scrum-half Deryck Fox.
He captained Yorkshire Under-17s this season and is on a youth scholarship with Huddersfield Giants but is also attracting interest from Castleford Tigers, Sheffield Eagles and Halifax.
Another of Moor’s youngsters has also earned a youth scholarship. Prop Tobias Richardson was snapped up by Leeds Rhinos after his performance in the Under-16 team’s National Youth Cup victory at Stanningley.
