Jonathan Rimmington’s men go into tonight’s game away to Penistone Church having already played seven games in 13 days and by the time next Thursday’s league finale at home to Thackley comes, they will have racked up 12 matches in the space of just 21 days.

Liversedge’s season could be extended even further if they are successful in the League Cup tie but the squad are already shattered after a gruelling run.

Liversedge were forced to play twice in the space of 24 hours as they faced Hall Road Rangers on Monday and Staveley Miners Welfare on Tuesday.

The Hall Road game was abandoned after 78 minutes when Sedge player Craig Billington collapsed soon after being substituted and was rushed to hospital (full story on page 67) but the 3-3 result will stand.

Rimmington must have been proud with the way his side bounced back from Monday’s shock 4-0 defeat to Staveley 24 hours later.

Sedge travel to Penistone Church tonight, then host Albion Sports on Saturday, with Monday’s cup tie at Rainworth followed by an away league game at Bottesford on Tuesday.
