Shears Inn set to host Matteo
EAGER footballers from the Shears, Hightown, will not be kicking their heels or trekking around the sales this Saturday when they have a free date from the Leeds Red Triangle League. They have arranged a match between the club’s Over-25s and Under-25s at King George V playing fields, Halifax Road, kick-off 1.30pm.
After, at about 3.30pm, the teams will retire to the Shears Inn where they are holding a fund-raising event for club funds. Among the guests will be former Liverpool and Leeds player Dominic Matteo who has donated a signed copy of his recent book, In My Defence, to be raffled. Anyone is invited to attend and support the club.
