Four in a row for Mount cricketers
MOUNT clinched a fourth successive league title last Saturday when they secured the Huddersfield Central Section A crown.
The amazing run started in 2009 when Mount won the Dales Council Section B title and the following year the went on to win Section A before leaving to join the Huddersfield Central League.
Mount began life in Section B, which they won last year, before going on to seal the Section A crown with two matches to play.
Mount sealed a fourth successive crown in style last Sunday, recording a 164-run success over Upperthong at Staincliffe.
Mount made 232-9 as Fakir Laher (42), Osama Sacha (39) and Anees Rawat (39) shone.
Man-of-the-match Laher then claimed 5-10, including a hat-trick as Upperthong were all out for 68.
Heckmondwike and Carlinghow A celebrated sealing promotion to the Premier Section with a 66-run win over Woolley A.
Paul Cooper (58) and Adam Holt (30) helped them reach 126 before Woolley were dismissed for 60 as Ilyas Hashmi (5-11) and Chris Allen (4-12 did the damage.
Crossbank Meths A are five points clear at the top of Section B with two games remaining following a 157-run victory over Badger Hill A.
Captain Richard Hosley hit 99 not out with support from Joe Ratcliffe (42no) and Jack Spencer (41) as Crossbank made 231-6 before Badger Hill were dismissed for 74 AS James Lord (4-9) Paul Ratcliffe (2-3) and Younis Hussain (2-19 did the damage.
Mount B dismissed Nortonthorpe for 59 in Section D with captain Bashir Sidat claiming 5-24 before Imran Ravat (24no) steered them to a five-wicket win.
Heckmondwike and Carlinghow B suffered a 94-run defeat to Thurstonland B.
Kristian Rowan (4-14) and Imran Akhtar (4-40) helped dismiss Thurstonland for 158. Mark Jagger (20) top scored but Heckmondwike were 64 all out.
Thornhill & Westborough A lie third in the Premier Section after a 71 run victory over Cartworth Moor A.
Thornhill reached 231-7 with M Griffiths (63) and W Atkin (58) leading the way before Cartworth were restricted to 158-9 as M Harrison took 3-47.
