Mount's lead at the top of Halifax Central League Division Two has been cut to seven points after they slipped to a seven-wicket defeat against Outlane last Saturday.

Mount elected to bat having won the toss and they managed a total of 250 all out.

In form player Soyeb Gheewala again led the Mount innings as he top scored with 76.

Anees Rawat supported with a fine knock of 65 as the pair shared a partnership of 132 before Gheewala was out.

Imran Ravat boosted the Mount total as he contributed with 46 not out but they were left to rue being bowled out in the 41st of their 45 overs.

Outlane A came out with a positive attitude in reply, taking the run chase to the Mount bowlers.

Liam Meller was in superb form as struck 111 not out and was supported by Chris Brook, who made 69.

The pair helped Outlane race to their target for the loss of just two wickets as they won with seven overs to spare.

Old Town are now Mount’s main title challengers as they have moved second.

Jabir Patel led Mount B to an impressive nine-wicket win over Outlane B in second teams Division One.

Outlane elected to bat first at Staincliffe but were restricted to 190 all out off the final ball of their innings.

Imran Kayat (2-20), Jabir Patel (2-30), Suleman Rawat (2-36) and Siraj Patel (2-37) collected two wickets apiece and when the final Outlane wicket fell off the last ball, it earned them an additional bonus bowling point.

Jabir Patel was in no mood to hand around in reply as he produced a sensational innings to guide his side to victory in rapid quick time.

Patel smashed a career best 150 not out from just 52 balls.

Mount required just 12 overs to reach their target and complete victory in style.

Victory ensured Mount B claimed a maximum 12 points and they remain 12 points behind leaders Shelf Northowram Hedge Top B in second place.

Mount will look to bounce back when they visit Greetland on Saturday, while third placed Upper Hopton visit Outlane after beating Luddendenfoot by 87 runs last week.
