Liversedge look forward to Huddersfield Town test

New Liversedge chairman Leigh Bromby will bring a Huddersfield Town Development team to take on Liversedge in a friendly at Clayborn next Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm.

A mix of Under-18s and Under-21s from the Terriers Academy will take on Liversedge in an intriguing clash.

Bromby will be on the touchline in his role as assistant manager of the Huddersfield Town Development team and is looking forward to seeing the youngsters come up against the open age side.

Bromby said: “There will be some good lads in there. Huddersfield invest a lot of money into the youth team now and have a strong team, so there should be some good players on show.

“Last year we won the league at Under-18s and the 21s came second so some of those players will feature on Tuesday.

“Part of the philosophy of the club is that we try to recruit players from within an hour of Huddersfield, so there should be local lads involved too.”

Sedge are hoping for a decent crowd and admission is just £2.50 adults, with Under-15s admitted free of charge.

Huddersfield season ticket holders can also get in for free but must produce their season ticket at the gate.

In addition, there will be prizes for the 100th, 200th and 300th person attending.

The 100th person through the gate will receive two free tickets to a Huddersfield Town home fixture, the 200th person will receive a signed Town shirt and the 300th person will receive a mystery prize.
