Moor’s Delaney scores four tries on BARLA tour — Junior RL round-ups

DEWSBURY Moor’s James Delaney scored four tries, while Adam Masson of Shaw Cross Sharks also featured as BARLA Great Britain Cougars defeated Jamaica 56-28 to clinch a 2-0 series win.

The game had an interested onlooker as world record holder sprinter Usain Bolt met BARLA officials, including Shaw Cross vice chairman Mick Turner.

Dewsbury Moor Under-14s lost 32-8 to Stanley Rangers in the Paul Teale Memorial Cup final.

Hamzah Riaz scored Moor’s try, with Aiden Ineson (two goals), Jacob Crosswell, Conner Redgwick, Aiden Sagar, Harry Woolard, Patrick Disken, Joe Longstaff, Jordan McNally and Danny White contributing.

Shaw Cross Under-11s won their first game of the season at Featherstone Lions with Ben Tibbs (two), James Harmon, Jack Waring, Ryan Sedgwick scoring. Brad Baines, Brad Gower, Will Phillips, Matt Kirby, Morgan Watson, Brad Appleby, Jacob Ripley, Jay Green, Danny Bastow and Jacob Merricks shone.

Opposition MoM Harry Copley and Reece Ripley scored two tries each, while Joshua Beevers raced the length of the field to cross for Birstall Victoria Under-10s against Shaw Cross. MoM Sean Lawes, player of the match Sean Lawes, parent’s player Edward Flexney, top tackler Caitlin Beevers, Sam Brackley, Sam Hartley, Leon Grayshon, Robson Stevens and Will Naylor did well.

The Vic Under-13s beat Dewsbury Moor 40-20 as parents MoM Jacob Fozard scored four tries, Matty Ward bagged a hat-trick and Callum Roberts landed six conversions.
