Mirfield Parish Cavaliers produced an impressive all-round display to record a seven-wicket win over Hunslet Nelson last Saturday.
Victory was enough to see Parish leapfrog Batley and move up to sixth place in the Central Yorkshire League Premier Division.
Although Hassan Hussain (46) and Robert Barker (26) made contributions, they lacked support as Nelson were bowled our for 123, with Nazar Hussain returning impressive figures of 5-30, while Daniel Hope and James Hardcastle picked up two wickets apiece.
Parish captain Tim Orrell led his side to victory, hitting 72, including 10 fours and two sixes as Parish eased to their target in 42.5 overs.
Batley slipped to an 88-run defeat at the hands of Townville on a day when the Premier Division title race took a dramatic twist.
