Hightown’s promotion challenge suffered a major setback on Tuesday when they lost 3-2 at Taylor.

They had gained a 6-2 win at St Ignatius on Sunday as Paul Myers (brace), James Mortimer, Martyn Pearson, Dean Commins and Charles Hullah netted with James Oakes and Robert Thompson replying.

Hightown have two games in hand on third placed FC Woodman and are two points behind.

Dean Murphy and Andy Asquith scored twice as Liversedge Albion won 4-2 against Battyeford Reserves. Johnny Mitchell hit both goals for Battyeford, who saw relegation confirmed last Sunday.

Also condemned to the drop are Marsh, who lost 10-0 at home to Ravenswharfe, who scored through doubles from Matthew Hepworth, Michael Smith and Joshua Walton, plus one each from Adam McGregor, Mark Mullins, Lee Pokkitt and Steve Smith.

Marsh won Tuesday’s battle of the relegated sides, beating Battyeford 6-3 to move off the bottom.

Batley Irish Nash and Railway East Ardsley clinched promotion from Division Three on Tuesday, while Barr Street are also on the brink of going up.

Barr Street beat leaders Batley Irish Nash 5-2 on Sunday. Dwayne Wilkinson bagged a hat-trick and Josh Rodgers a brace for Barr Street, with Sean Housecroft and Tony Endeacott replying for Nash, who hit back to clinch promotion on Tuesday, beating Overthorpe Town Reserves 7-1.

Railwaystay second, two points behind Nash with both sides having two games left, after their 6-0 win at Snowden on Tuesday.

Crown Leeds Road Reserves enjoyed a 7-1 win over Snowden last Sunday thanks to doubles from Jamie Baulk, Dominic Karimi and Will Stevenson, plus one from Lee Kaye. Mohammed Bulbulia scored the consolation.

A Richard Naylor hat-trick and Ryan Burton (two) saw Queens Hotel to a 5-1 win at Overthorpe Town Reserves (Sam Ratcliffe) last Sunday before Queens lost 6-1 at Heckmondwike on Tuesday.
