Moor started brightly and after dominating early possession, Toby Richardson broke to open the scoring after 10 minutes. Jacob Flathers converted.

Moor continued to press with the forwards winning the midfield battles before the right edge of Kaye and Adamson made an impact.

Good play by Harrington created space for Kaye and he neatly fed centre Adamson, who found a gap and outpaced the defence running 40 metres for an unconverted try.

Crosfields responded with a spell of pressure before half-time which resulted in a converted try to reduce the arrears to 10-6.

From the kick-off, Richardson took the high ball and fed half-back Aiden Ineson, who raced clear only to be clattered by a head high tackle deep in the Crosfields half by a chasing defender.

The offence resulted in a red card for the Crosfields man and a yellow for the retaliating Ineson.

The red card spurred on Crosfields, who put the Maroons under pressure as Moor’s defence was tested on their own line but held firm.

After finally securing possession around the halfway line, young hooker Archie Bruce raced from his marker, splitting the defence on a 30 metre break before drawing the full-back and putting Richardson over between the posts and the returning Ineson converted.

Moor had the upper hand and their man advantage was starting to pay.

Great play by forwards Samme, Cameron Bruce and Foster laid a platform for Ineson to move right where Harrington skittled three defenders on a storming run to break the line and go 20 metres unchallenged to the line. Ineson converted and Moor looked comfortable at 22-6 with 20 minutes remaining.

Crosfields were reduced to 11 men after having a player sin-binned but found an extra gear and grabbed two tries and give them hope at 22-16.

Two late penalties by Ineson sealed a well deserved victory for Moor.

Man-of-the-match went to Archie Bruce with big performances from his fellow forwards.

The Maroons lie fifth in the table with four points from their opening three matches but they are now just two behind leaders Askam, whose 100 per cent start was ended by a surprise 34-26 defeat to West Bowling.
