Price is right as returning full-back scores four in Batley Boys cup success
The Boys didn’t have it their own way in the lively opening exchanges as the lead changed hands several times.
Batley Boys opened the scoring thanks to a try from Shaun Whittaker only for York to hit back immediately.

Hide AdThe end to end contest continued as Ryan Crossley put the Boys back in front only for Acorn to score again and regain the lead.
Again Acorn’s advantage was short lived as Price claimed his first try of the afternoon to put Batley back in front before Luke Sheridan extended the home side’s lead with another try, while Adam Bingham added three first half goals.
York responded with their final try but it was the Boys who led at half-time.
The Boys took control after the break as Price added his second try following a terrific break and moments later the full-back completed his hat-trick.

Hide AdNew hooker Josh Knowles got over the line before Joe O’Hanlon claimed a try after a big hit from Josh Whitehead forced an Acorn player to loose the ball.
Batley continued to dominate as Ryan Crossley extended the advantage and Bingham also crossed for a try.
Price claimed his fourth try before setting one up for William Brook from Batley’s best move of the match.
Bingham added three second half goals with O’Hanlon also landing one as the Boys completed a comfortable win.

Hide AdPrice claimed the Boys man-of-the-match accolade with Matthew Sheridan and Ryan Crossley sharing second place, while Josh Whitehead was named third.
The initial stage of the Forty20 Cup is played in a group stage and Batley Boys travel to Queensbiry for their next game this Saturday (kick off 2.30pm).
