Batley Bulldogs will officially open their new gym and wrestle room before Sunday’s Championship game with Rochdale Hornets.
The gym has been built thanks to the generosity of sponsors Henley Stone and Riva Homes and is situated under the old long stand at Fox’s Biscuits Stadium.
Dignitaries from the RFL will be present, along with other guests, while a film crew from Rugby AM will also cover the opening.
The Bulldogs squad have already been making use of the new gym as part of their training regime and it is possible the facility could be offered to other groups needing a base for fitness classes.
Coach Matt Diskin believes the facility is another huge step in taking the club forward.
He said: “It is a massive step forward for the club to have a facility like that here and it will help us attract new players and make the whole environment a lot more professional than it has been.”
